Wildlife Prevention and Winter
As 2015 fades away, and the new year is on the horizon we bid farewell to last years problems. What, whats that? The squirrels are in your attic? We have been very lucky here in Western NY with our weather this years. Honestly I’ve been quite busy doing bat jobs, even into this time of December. Because of this warmer weather however the squirrels and squirrel problems have somewhat been held off. Now as the holiday season takes off we find the scattering of nuts and insulation pieces in our attics and walls.
So what happens next? Well, you could hope for them just to go away. It won’t happen but you can always hope right? Realistically you get rid of the immediate problem and seal up the place they were getting in. This is probably why your reading this blog post. The urgency of this is twofold. 1. Though it probably won’t happen squirrels have been known to run rampant through homes We have been to several in the Rochester area. 2. (And this is far more important.) They potentially can chew wires. When wires are chewed insulation potentially can catch fire. This makes for a lousy new year. Please don’t let it get this far.
